The Opportunity

Plant Engineer at a growth-oriented energy company Work with a dynamic team of Engineers to improve processes & solve unique problems in a plant that never sleeps Conduct engineering studies and make recommendations to improve the reliability of refinery equipment. Conduct investigations of equipment problems and failures (RCFA), making recommendations to prevent future problems, expedite the planned and unplanned repairs of equipment. Reporting to the Reliability Manager, you will be part of a team that has a huge impact positive impact on our state, & local community – leading the way for sustainable fuels in our unique Hawai`i market.

Key activities include:

Evaluates equipment performance and provides equipment reliability improvement recommendations by using RCM analysis. Champion the instrumentation bad actor program. Develop and/or assist in the strategies for the resolution of bad actors. Stewards the refinery benchmarking, condition monitoring, , and ensure proactive activities and ongoing improvement. Oversees and implements plant SIS PM program Provides updates on required maintenance KPIs Day to day execution support Facilitate PM optimization Investigates equipment problems and failures for root cause and provides engineering recommendations for resolution including economic impacts of various alternatives. Review and approve all proposed equipment spare parts changes including additions to the spare parts lists and spares for new equipment. Use SAP to update equipment repair histories, provide technical data updates, and input necessary changes to equipment bill of materials. Conduct cold eyes hazard/operability reviews of new equipment designs and existing equipment. Assist maintenance planner to develop repair work scopes for major machinery components for equipment repaired in house, equipment sent out for repair and equipment repaired during turnarounds. Interface with equipment suppliers on retrofits or upgrades.

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will currently have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Additional qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in at least 1 of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Petroleum. Valid Driver's License Minimum 5 years' experience maintenance environment Experience working as an engineer in Oil & Gas or a refinery preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

Hiring Compensation Range:

The hiring range for this position is $110,000 to 142,000 per year plus discretionary bonus opportunity. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.

Our Refineries and Logistics Operations
