Summary

This position serves as a Nurse Anesthetist at the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility in Belcourt, North Dakota. The Nurse Anesthetist administers anesthetic agents and supportive treatments of patients undergoing surgery or other medical procedures.



Duties
  • Administers anesthesia to patients for a broad range of surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures, using knowledge of pharmacological effects of anesthesia and related drugs, and knowledge of anesthesia nursing practices and procedures.
  • Manages immediate postoperative care through coordination with recovery room staff.
  • Reviews planned anesthesia with the patient and explains expected outcomes and possible complications.
  • Induces anesthesia to the proper levels.
  • Recognizes and corrects potential complications related to the anesthetic care delivered.
