Job Description

As an Actuarial Trainee with Chubb, the trainee will help evaluate business opportunities in a given market by analyzing data to identify the potential profitability and possible pitfalls. Armed with this data, trainees advise top management on ways to balance the anticipated with the unexpected. Typically, our actuaries base their analysis on the demand the business may create, the price required to deliver a reasonable rate of return, and the potential effect of claims on the company's profitability. As the trainee's career progresses at Chubb, projects will include extensive statistical analysis, pricing, loss reserving, research, forecasting, and predictive analytics.

Actuarial Analysts are primarily located in Philadelphia, PA and Whitehouse Station, NJ. The position combines on-the-job learning with seminars and formal training, rotational opportunity, and time off to study for the Casualty Actuarial Society's series of exams.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Some knowledge of insurance concepts, practices, and procedures is desirable
  • Individuals who can successfully work as part of a team, are sophisticated communicators, able to manage time effectively, and enjoy finding creative solutions to problems.
  • Math and analytical skills is essential.
  • A minimum of one Actuarial Exam is preferred.
  • Strong GPA, 3.0 or higher required.
  • MS Office experience, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with SQL, R Studio and Python is preferred
  • Oral and written communication skills, negotiation skills
