The opportunity

Magic Leap's Finance roles are responsible for all financial and accounting operations for our organization. Their areas of responsibility include preparing, collecting, and interpreting financial information; preparing budgets, reports, forecasts, and statutory returns; conducting financial analysis, investments and fund sources; managing the organization's tax affairs; managing cost accounting systems and cash flow; controlling treasury and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Finance job family roles are also responsible for accounting administration activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, collections, billing, and invoicing.

As an Payroll Specialist within our Finance Organization, you will be responsible for processing, verifying, documenting and reconciling payroll transactions for the US and International payrolls under the supervision of the payroll Sr Manager.

What you'll do

  • Promptly address inquiries received in the payroll mailbox
  • Ensure timely completion of all timecards, meticulously reviewing for adherence to policies and promptly addressing any deviations.
  • Skillfully manage the completion of manual batches, including bonuses, gift cards, and relocation payments. Import data into ADP or input into international systems while verifying totals.
  • Generate standard reports and balance data in Excel workbooks for both US and international payrolls, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete Excel balancing workbooks for each international payroll, maintaining precision throughout the process.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations, providing support for ADP access and navigation to streamline onboarding processes.
  • Oversee the submission of external files for Canada pension, 401K, and H.S.A. post-payroll, meticulously reconciling with payroll totals for accuracy.
  • Ensure all tax notices received are forwarded to ADP, perform garnishment calculations, and promptly respond to requests from the legal department and auditors.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting support as needed, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to evolving needs.

The experience you bring

  • 3-5 yrs + of experience in payroll processing
  • Advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel, leveraging its functionalities to optimize processes
  • Proficient in utilizing various accounting software, spreadsheets, and relevant tools
  • Notable analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, consistently delivering effective solutions
  • Demonstrated capability in efficiently managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all tasks

  • Associate Degree in Accounting or related field. We are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements
  • Proficiency in managing multi-state and international payroll operations
  • Hands-on experience utilizing ADP Workforce Now Software

  • Flexibility to work occasional nights or weekends as needed to meet payroll deadlines

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. In addition to salary, Magic Leap offers a discretionary bonus, equity, and a fully comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.
