Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)This member of the care team will be integral in supporting patients living with chronic disease (such as diabetes, kidney disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.) and getting them connected to the appropriate care.
This team member will work closely with the clinical pharmacists who manage patients' chronic disease. The pharmacist role includes prescribing under protocol for relevant labs, adjusting relevant medications, and providing education. Familiarity with medications is preferred. This pharmacy technician will be responsible to help optimize pharmacists' schedules to allow for highest efficiency. Also (s)he is responsible for ensuring access to medications which includes coordination with retail pharmacies and submitting prior authorizations.
Daily duties will include managing daily schedule for pharmacists, rooming patients virtually and/or physically to prepare for appointments, coordinating patient care needs, and outreach to connect patients to care.
Coordination with outpatient pharmacies will be needed. This includes following up on diabetic supply orders, prescriptions, and submitting prior authorizations as needed.
We are looking for personnel with these qualities: proactive, organized, strong oral and written communication skills, problem solver, and adaptable to changes.

A Brief Overview
This position assists the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services (e.g. processing prescriptions) in
compliance with applicable State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Functions include those allowed by the
Board of Pharmacy and are always checked before the product is released from the pharmacy. The
Pharmacy Technician II works under supervision. Demonstrates proficiency working in 5 of the pharmacy
areas to which technicians are assigned OR demonstrates expertise in 1 of the pharmacy areas and trains
new technicians to achieve the appropriate level of competency

What you will do
  • Enters patient medication orders into the pharmacy computer system, operates automated compounding and
    dispensing machines for preparation and storage of medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Maintains medication inventory, places and receives stock replacement orders.
  • Prepares, compounds and labels intravenous admixtures, cancer chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition
    patient specific doses using strict aseptic technique.
  • Prepares, packages, compounds and labels non-sterile drug products for specific patients with appropriate
    final pharmacist checks.
Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent Required
Experience Qualifications
  • Six (6) months of progressively responsible and directly related work experience Required

  • Knowledge of influence of patient's age, sex, concomitant disease states, concurrent drug therapy, foods and
    diagnostic procedures on drug activity and disposition
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology and abbreviations; pharmacology and pharmacological nomenclature;
    medical therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and disease states
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures involved in proper handling and storing of pharmaceutical supplies
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pathology, chemistry and mathematics as they relate to pharmacy
    practice
Licenses and Certifications
  • CPHT - Cert Pharmacy Tech or
  • IPH - Intern Pharmacist

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $ $37.68 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
