Position: Grain Terminal Operations Tech

Job Type: Full-time

Operations Tech Responsibilities:

  1. Grain Handling: Efficiently handle incoming and outgoing grain shipments, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  2. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain grain handling equipment, including conveyors, loaders, and scales.
  3. Quality Control: Monitor and assess grain quality, conducting regular inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
  4. Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of grain inventory levels and assist in conducting periodic physical inventories.
  5. Safety Procedures: Adhere to and enforce all safety protocols, promoting a secure working environment for all team members.
  6. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on grain handling equipment, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs as needed.
  7. Communication: Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with truck drivers, ensuring smooth and timely grain transactions.
  8. Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate documentation related to grain shipments, including inspection reports and inventory records.
  9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including safety standards, environmental requirements, and legal obligations.

Operations Tech Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in agriculture or related fields is a plus.
  2. Proven experience in grain terminal operations or a similar agricultural setting.
  3. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and troubleshoot grain handling equipment.
  4. Knowledge of grain quality standards, inspection procedures, and inventory management.
  5. Commitment to safety protocols and the ability to enforce safety measures effectively.
  6. Excellent communication skills to interact with team members, truck drivers, and other stakeholders.
  7. Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  9. Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons.
  10. Familiarity with relevant software and computer systems is an asset.
