The Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Arizona, in partnership with the Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ is searching for a BC/BE Invasive or Non-Invasive Heart Failure Physician.

The successful candidate will excel in a dynamic, diverse environment that is constantly evolving. Ideally, candidates should possess specialized knowledge in heart transplant, mechanical support devices, and invasive hemodynamics. This presents a remarkable opportunity to join a highly esteemed Advanced Heart Failure program led by an exceptional medical director.

BUMC-Tucson is a renowned center for heart transplantation, total artificial heart, and mechanical circulatory support, catering to a population of over 1.2 million. The selected candidate will secure a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona in line with their qualifications. Additionally, there are avenues for clinical and translational research through the Sarver Heart Center. The Cardiology Division offers complex electrophysiology, structural heart, and advanced imaging programs to complement the Advanced Heart Failure Program.

Job Details:

  • 1.0 FTE
  • Average daily patient load 6-10 per half day; outpatient load 5-10 per half day
  • Case/procedure types: Right heart catheterization, endomyocardial biopsies, Cardiomems insertion
  • 10 weeks heart failure call, in equal rotation with clinical peers

Essential Functions and Qualifications:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Non-Invasive or Invasive Cardiology
  • Candidates with 3+ years of experience preferred
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a community hospital setting
  • Strong dedication to patient care

BUMC-T holds Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and hosts Diamond Children's Medical Center on-site, providing specialized pediatric services including neonatal and intensive care, emergency medicine, and cancer treatments.
