Introduction

We at the Potomac Center/SETT facility provide quality\r
person-centered supports to adults with intellectual disabilities at our campus\r
in Hagerstown, Maryland. Our aim is to partner with the community to help our residents\r
achieve their goals.\r

The Potomac Center is a 62-bed licensed Intermediate Care\r
Facility (ICF). This program focuses on using therapeutic interventions to\r
empower residents as they learn the skills they need to successfully return to\r
community living.\r
\r
\r
The Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT)\r
Program, located within the Potomac Center campus, is a 32-bed licensed\r
Forensic Residential Center that provides services to individuals with\r
intellectual disabilities and court involvement within a safe and secure\r
environment. The program provides assistance as they resolve their court\r
involvement and work toward transitioning to a less secured environment. The\r
SETT utilizes active treatment as well as providing evaluation, assessment and\r
competency attainment education.\r

Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for the following:\r
\r
\r
Helping each person served meet their personal outcomes;�\r
Successfully completing all in-service Training modules inclusive of classroom, demonstrated competencies and CNA related;\r
Full compliance with applicable policies and procedures relating to both Individual care as well as identified Outcomes and measures in place in furtherance of same;\r
Provision of quality services in such representative areas as equipment utilization, data collection, personal hygiene, and programming;\r
Matching newly-acquired skills to enhance growth and development of persons served per their Individualized Plan (IP) goals.�\r

\r
Finally, discharging all duties and conducting oneself at all times per all relevant Regulations, Standards, Policies and Procedures including: Departments of Budget and Management and Mental Health and Hygiene; Title 17 CODE OF MARYLAND REGULATIONS; Office of Health Care Quality; ICF-ID; Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services; CNA Certification/statutory requirements; The Mandt System; and Potomac Center/SETT.\r
After two (2) or more year's relevant training and experience, with intellectually disabled and Center policies and procedures applicable thereto, this position is expected to exercise informed discretion and play a lead role in Individuals' habilitation programs and all ancillary areas related thereto. This position is expected to lead by word, deed and example and, thereby, provide a fitting model for newly hired employees to emulate. This position may be assigned to be a mentor to new employees and would be responsible for completing new employee checklist with new employee.\r
Finally, this position shall be expected to continue self-education efforts and enhance skills and abilities commensurate with increased experience, on-job training opportunities, and greater familiarity with position requirements.\r

Per the Amended Directive and Order Regarding Vaccination\r
(MDH # �issued by the Secretary of the Maryland Department\r
of Health,�effective April 18, 2023, staff in all�hospitals and\r
residential facilities operated by the Maryland�Department�of Health\r

employees, contractual staff, volunteers, and other state employees performing\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Three years of experience providing direct client services in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting.\r
\r
\r
Notes:\r
1.�Candidates may substitute the completion of 60 credit hours�from an accredited college or university with 15 credit hours in health or human services, education or the behavioral sciences and one year of experience providing direct client services in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting for the required experience.\r
\r
\r
2.�Candidates may substitute the possession of an Associate of Arts or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in the treatment of developmental disabilities in a mental health or closely related curriculum including a supervised clinical practicum in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting for the required experience.\r
\r
\r
3.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Hospital Corpsman classifications or Health Care Specialist and Medical Services specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r
\r
\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience assisting supervisors and providing guidance and support to direct support professionals.\r
Experience scheduling staff.\r
\r
\r

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current certificate as a Nursing Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.\r

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
