Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer Consultant with our client in the transportation industry in their Minneapolis, MN location. This is a 12 + month contract position.

Description:

Seeking a Data Engineer Consultant

Our client is on a journey to becoming the best IT organization in the airline industry, a journey of transformation. Responsibilities:
  • Create accountability tools such as scorecards and performance reviews that focus on KPIs that monitor and drive delivery
  • Create insightful executive-level and frontline dashboards using data visualization tools
  • Locate and extract data from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models, and project development
  • Develop and improve automated reports and analyses to support senior divisional leaders and business units
  • Understand drivers of the KPIs through various analyses and work closely with the business team to create solutions
  • Present findings to business leadership
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, or other relevant quantitative field
  • Track record of previous experience with creating and developing BI dashboards, excel reports, working with and developing data models
  • Power BI and SQL, Microsoft Excel experience are a prerequisite
  • Direct experience communicating with stakeholders, delivering projects end-to-end, and working collaboratively to drive improvement in the overall analytical support of client operations worldwide
  • Comfortable working in group and individual settings
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
Desired skills:
  • Familiarity and/or experience with some or all of the following: SAS, R, Tableau, Qlik, Spotfire or other database interface tools and languages
  • Experience working with REST APIs, Postman will be beneficial
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Business/Management, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, or other relevant quantitative field
  • Experience in reporting and analytics roles
  • Experience in a Program Management or Program Delivery Organization
  • Experience and understanding of Agile Delivery Frameworks
  • Team first attitude with the success of team and business partners as their top priority
  • Intellectually curious, ask questions and speak up when they have an idea
  • "Do-er" and not afraid of failure, but instead learn from each experience and improve
  • Independent worker who looks for problems to solve and then come up with innovative ideas
  • Make things happen without frequent management direction and know when to communicate status or escalate issues to their manager, teammates, or stakeholders
  • Enjoy working in a high-profile environment with fluid priorities, ambiguity, and aggressive deadlines
