PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As a showroom gatekeeper you will be setting the stage from the moment our guests enter the lobby until the time they leave. Gatekeepers are a vital link in creating an outstanding theatrical experience our guests have come to expect. We are looking for those shinning stars who greet our guests with a smile, hear the guests needs and will go above and beyond to own their experience leaving the guests saying "WOW".

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize improvisation and theatrical performance techniques while performing all duties, including physical participation while greeting, escorting, providing clear directions, and supporting pre & post-show Meet and Greets to all customers of the show
  • Interact with other improvisational "Gatekeepers" and performers in a constructive, non-competitive manner to achieve maximum entertainment value to the customers
  • Understand and incorporate aesthetic feedback, performance notes, and processional coaching from theater leadership
  • Ensure customer expectations are met while maintaining the aesthetic environment in delivering superior customer service and actively participating in theater safety
  • Assist the performance through the accurate and timely preset and execution of production cues throughout the theater including the placement, retrieval, management, and handoff of props, escorting pre-selected and ad hoc audience participants during the show, prepping the house during changeover between performances
  • Maintain awareness of all the property restaurants, services, shows, events and property amenities
  • Keep leadership apprised of all unusual situations, customer concerns, and other irregularities as required
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Ability to read and write proficiently to evaluate reports, correspondence and statistical information
  • Perception and awareness of individual needs and the ability to handle all situations calmly and professionally
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:

  • One (1) year of improvisational theatre background and/or equivalent education with a major in theatre
  • One (1) year of front of house experience and/or usher experience in a theatrical environment
  • Front of house experience in a theatrical environment
  • Experience presetting and executing cues
  • Experience working in a similar resort setting
