The Orwigsburg Nursing & Rehabilitation team is looking for an experienced & dedicated individual to fulfill our open position for Transportation Coordinator in our Nursing Administration Department Part-time, every other weekend.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Schedules and coordinates resident appointments
  • Schedules and coordinates the in-house dental, eye and podiatry appointments
  • Maintains daily run list
  • Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances
  • Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate
  • Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors
  • Communicates with medical staff, nursing personnel and other department personnel
  • Works beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary
  • Is subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post – disaster, etc)

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred
  • Valid, unencumbered state driver's license
  • A physical examination and/or evidence from a physician indicating freedom of communicable disease to be available upon employment
  • Must be in good physical and mental health
  • Ability to work independently or part of a group
  • Effectively communicates with others.
  • CNA certified

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years transportation experience preferred
  • Previous long-term care experience is desirable
  • Must have experience transporting and transferring residents or patients with physical impairments using facility equipment.
