Upper School

THE POSITION
The Country School is seeking an energetic teacher with a strong math background and a demonstrated commitment to working with middle school students. This can be a full-time or part-time position, depending on the number of classes assigned. The instructional expertise needed includes middle school math concepts through pre-algebra and the capacity to differentiate instruction, supporting students in building confidence and math fluency.

The Country School is located in Easton, MD, and serves students in grades PreK through 8th grade with a total enrollment of approximately 300 students. The Upper School serves approximately 135 students in grades 5-8. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will be a full participant in the life of the Upper School, including serving as an advisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Orientation to progressive philosophy and teaching methods
• College degree (B.A./B.S. minimum; M.A. preferred)
• Formal training in mathematics or experience teaching math
• Teaching experience at the middle school level (3+ years preferred)
• Commitment to working with adolescents and to teaching in the middle school
• Knowledge of math pedagogy and curriculum
• Interest in curriculum development, assessment, and differentiated instruction
• Computer literacy and experience in integrating technology
• Personal skills needed to work collaboratively with other faculty
