Job Functions
- Collaborating with the Chair to execute the strategic planning for the Division and the Department
- Work with the Chair to attract outstanding faculty
- Leading clinical and research initiatives
- Managing the operations of the Division
- Mentoring junior faculty members
- Working closely with the Director of Patient Safety and Quality and other members of the clinical and research Departmental leadership
- Interacting with UMMSOM, UHealth, and Jackson Health System leadership
- Active participation in the inpatient and outpatient clinical practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami Kendall Medical Center, Desai Sethi Institute, Doral Commons, University of Miami Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital
- Participation in the advancement and education of "OB/GYN" medical students, residents, and fellows
- Develops and carries out a comprehensive medical treatment plan addressing biological, psychological, and sociocultural domains
- Performs physical assessment of patients in a logical and respectful manner. Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- MD/DO and Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Certification and Licensing:
- Certification in relevant specialty or field required
- Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical license and DEA
Experience:
- Ten years of experience as an academic OBGYN Generalist encompassing entire spectrum of clinical practice, education - clinical instruction/teaching, and research.
- Five years of progressive supervisory experience consisting of oversight of other providers, program development and administration, fiscal oversight and management, development of peer or junior faculty research endeavors, and/or other leadership development and growth accomplishments.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
