This role is part-time, catering to our Elementary School students aged K-5. It involves 21 hours of work per week, with the salary adjusted accordingly. There is flexibility regarding working days.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with teachers, division directors, and other Math Specialists on curriculum and teaching approaches
  • Offer one-on-one and small group support to students
  • Create engaging lessons using various teaching formats to cater to students of all abilities
  • Provide guidance to Assistant Teachers and Head Teachers
  • Track student progress and engagement, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
  • Develop assessments to measure student achievements and identify areas for improvement
  • Support the school's mission of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) through ongoing professional development, promoting inclusivity in the classroom and school community
  • Write progress reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences
  • Attend cluster meetings within the designated division and engage in faculty and staff meetings
  • Create a positive and dynamic learning environment where students feel empowered to take academic risks

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in Special Education and/or Mathematics for Elementary Students (Master's degree preferred)
  • Experience in mentoring educators and familiarity with various math programs, with a preference for expertise in Singapore Math and Stern Structural Arithmetic
  • Proficiency in the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) teaching method
  • Understanding of best practices in teaching math at the elementary level
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Previous experience in independent school teaching
  • Knowledge of cognitive, linguistic, and developmental requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive environment
  • Flexibility in adapting classroom instruction
  • Effective classroom management, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Strong time management skills to optimize student learning
