The Marketing and Development Associate will work closely with the Executive Director & Digital Marketer to support the overall fundraising, marketing, for the organization. They will be responsible for using the branding guidelines to develop social media, website, and print materials and templates to support the staff. The Associate will maintain social platforms, respond to messages and inquiries in a timely, accurate and polite manner. They will create and edit video and photos. As a storyteller, the Marketing and Development Associate will highlight the growth of the organization conducting interviews with its partners, volunteers, sponsors and donors. They will assist in the production of a bi-monthly newsletter, email campaigns, and an annual report.
The Marketing and Development Associate will assist with fundraising goals including expanding corporate and foundation support, fundraising events, mini-campaigns, and the year-end appeal. They will assist with grant proposals, appeal letters, and prospect research. They will use Salesforce to pull funder reports for grants, contact lists, and maintain clean and accurate records. The Marketing and Development Associate will assist with updates to the Give Lively platform and peer to peer fundraisers. They will assist with all aspects of coordinating fundraising events. They will manage volunteer coordination including scheduling and communication. The Marketing and Development Associate will coordinate with the board of directors, providing updates and follow up tasks to keep fundraising efforts on track.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Create and plan social media content including pictures, video and graphics creation; develop calendar for social media that aligns with branding and supports special events, fundraising and program initiatives
● Work with the Executive Director & Grant Proposal Writer to support diversifying foundation requests; assist with grant writing, coordinating grant data and keeping grant notes updated in Salesforce; attend funder meetings as needed
● Maintain individual donor records and campaigns in Salesforce; pull reports; create and conduct prospect research
● Support all aspects of special event planning, including securing event sponsorship and ticket sales
● Recruit and maintain a schedule for corporate volunteers using Civic Champs platform and social media; communicate with and assist volunteers
● Coordinate with the staff to create a bi-monthly newsletter, event emails, and the annual report
● Assist the Executive Director in creating an annual plan for corporate sponsorship including events and program support, product sales and volunteer recruitment
● Routinely communicate with partners, donors, volunteers, committee members, staff and the general public
● Create systems for marketing, fundraising, and volunteer outreach objectives that provide efficiency and accountability among staff
● Use the branding guideline to create messaging for events, fundraising campaigns, and Period Project promotion Preferred Skills: ● Skilled at social media content creation, scheduling, and engagement; interest and ability to learn analytics tools to help guide marketing efforts
● Highly organized and detail oriented; able to take initiative and follow through on tasks
● Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to adjust content to different audiences and platforms
● Experience with Salesforce or donor CRM; ability to accurately and confidently manage donor and funder data and correspondence
● Proficient with Google Workspace, Trello, Constant Contact, Give Lively, Canva or similar, basic graphics creation skills
● Experience with video creation and editing ● Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and manage up as needed Passion for the vision, mission and values of the Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank
