Our client, one of the largest banks in the US with wealth management, investment banking, and international business, is seeking an Application Architect V

Location: Jersey City, NJ
Position Type: Contract

Job Responsibilities:
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate mining/collection processes.
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
  • Analyze large amounts of data/information to discover and articulate trends and patterns.
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
  • Make and defend arguments using data and data-based insight.
  • Leading the design, architecture, ML pipeline development for Capital Markets.
  • Design, execute and deploy projects aimed at solving high-impact business problems.
  • Partnering with Application Programmers to provide specifications for deploying models/algorithms into production systems, when applicable
  • Present to customers projects and validate needs and requirements to feed into the business case
  • Provide analysis and due diligence expertise with potential strategic partners
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience in a quantitative, Data Science or other advanced data & predictive analytics role
  • 3+ years' experience in Python and Tableau
  • Must have a software development background in order to prototype custom analytics/tooling
  • Practical experience with data analysis and exploration, especially with diverse data sets
  • Experience in streaming and/or batch analytics (e.g. Kafka, Spark, Flink)
  • Architect and work closely with other team members to develop scalable cloud-based data analytic solutions
  • Capable of applying the latest technologies and methodologies in machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics to correlate disparate datasets and events, and derive value.
  • Has a proven ability to learn quickly and works well both independently as well as in a team setting
  • Practical experience with data mining, machine learning techniques, natural language processing, and data visualization
  • Experience of working on end-to-end data science pipelines: problem scoping, data gathering, exploratory data analysis, modelling, insights, visualizations, monitoring and maintenance
  • Proven track record of strong analytical skills, learning agility, and independent thinking.
