As a STEM teacher at Jones Gordon, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic journey of middle and high school students. You will have the opportunity to create engaging lessons, lead exciting experiments, and instill a love for STEM subjects that goes beyond the classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive STEM curriculum that aligns with grade-level standards and fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Create dynamic lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, real-world applications, and technology to enhance student learning.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive classroom instruction in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Organize and oversee laboratory activities, experiments, and projects that provide students with practical and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Assess student understanding through various methods and provide timely and constructive feedback and support.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of our students, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate STEM concepts across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary learning.
  • Encourage and support student participation in STEM-related extracurricular activities, clubs, and competitions.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment through effective classroom management strategies.
  • Stay updated on current trends, advancements, and best practices in STEM education through continuous professional development.
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Technology, etc.).
    • Valid teaching certification for grades 6-12 in the relevant subject areas.
    • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
    • Previous teaching experience preferred, preferably in a middle or high school setting.
    • Passion for STEM education and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching and learning activities.
    • Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
