You will serve as a Production Controller under the general supervision of the Water Front Director, to oversee and coordinate the management of an entire ship's construction, testing, trials, and delivery through crew integration and ship load-out, sail away and the guarantee period.

This position provides waterfront oversight in accordance with established procedures in support of surface ship design and construction programs.

Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable team member

Typical duties include:


Monitoring the development and installation of ship systems including, but not limited to, machinery, electrical and electronics, piping, coating application,outfitting, and structural to ensure the readiness of the ship systems for certification and delivery.

Evaluating the contractor's construction schedule, construction progress, milestone completion, installation testing status and sea trial preparations.
Reviewing shipboard drawings, performance criteria, and other contractual documentation to ensure shipboard systems and contractual performance are compliant.
Developing and providing reports, briefings and presentations to the organization, Program Office and other key Government activities.

Conducting onsite reviews and surveys to evaluate the shipbuilder's technical compliance to contract specifications, regulations and requirements related to production and quality assurance.

Monitoring contractor performance, managing budget execution, preparing change orders, reviewing data deliverables, maintaining contract files, processing invoices and other tasks that may be assigned.
