Duties

Serves as Counselor in the Sergeant at Arms (SAA) on legal matters, as assigned by the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel. Provides timely, accurate, and useful advice on legal matters, as assigned by the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel. Researches and drafts legal memoranda, policies, regulations, and procedures, as assigned by the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel. Assists with legal issues related to human resources, ethics, contracting, and other areas of administrative law. Assists OGC with supporting litigation, agreement, and record responsibilities. Answers legal questions diligently and thoroughly. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Core Competencies
Advising on matters of law, regulation, policy, and procedure.Drafting attorney work product, including legal memoranda.Communicating legal guidance that is timely and accurate.Working collegially and professionally with co-workers.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
Other duties as assigned consistent with legal role.
Required Work Experience
5+ years of relevant legal experience, such as federal government, law firms, or corporations.
Required Special Skills/ Knowledge
License to practice law.

Sedentary (carrying items less than 25 pounds)

Education

Law degree from accredited law school.
