The Equipment Maintenance Technician I is responsible for Support the preventive maintenance program of all equipment; part repairs, replacements, for in house and outsource services and supplies.

This position is part of the Manufacturing Engineering Department and will be located in Lodi, California at Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions. This is not a supervisory position.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain the daily operation of manufacturing, automation, molding, and tooling equipment i.e., Material dyers, Robot, Mold Heaters, Injection Molding Machines, Hot Runner Systems, Conveyors, Vision System, CNC Mill, Wire EDM that are to follow Cepheid Quality System's; regulations involving through a documented test, resulting in repeatable processes to assure products meet all internal and external safety and quality requirements.
  • Maintain the necessary critical spare parts components supporting equipment through Inventory Control and follow the routine / planned and unplanned Equipment Maintenance Schedule to generate work orders and track records stored as historical data for future reference.
  • Comply with, all Environmental Health and Safety and Cepheid Quality System policies and practices to ensure world-class safety, quality, and compliance in all aspect activities.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • High School degree (or equivalent experience) and 1+ years of related experience in mechanical assembly; knowledge in using basic hand tools and power tools. Basic troubleshooting and problem solving. Familiar with Basic Computer operations.
  • Ability to use standard operating procedures as a guide to perform standard work.
  • Uses good communication skills to exchange information. Safety Awareness, and ability to effectively build relationships

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Plastic Injection Molding, Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS.
  • Medical Device Manufacturing.
  • Familiar with inspection tools, calipers, micrometers, multimeter, microscope, micro-vu etc.

The hourly range for this role is $22.12/hr. to $29.23/hr. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
