I. SUMMARY
Performs all patching, paint and wall covering, interior and exterior maintenance to ensure compliance with JCAHO and keep the facility at an optimal level of efficiency.
II. JOB REQUIREMENTS
A. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Work requires a high school level of educational development and one year of previous experience.
2. Maryland Class D Driver's License is required.
3. Work requires the skills to read and understand instructions, add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters.
4. Work requires the ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions. Incumbents must respond appropriately to instructions, questions, or requests for information. Work occasionally requires contact with patients and/or visitors, which involves courtesy.
B. Required Physical, Mental, and Visual Abilities
1. Lifting and/or carrying objects weighing more than 50 pounds
2. Pushing and/or pulling non-motorized equipment (e.g., stretchers, supply carts, mops) weighing over 50 pounds.
3. Climbing - ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, or ramps.
4. Stooping and bending.
5. Reaching and grasping objects.
6. Manipulating and operating power tools or machinery.
7. Walking and/or standing for extended periods of time.
C. Working Conditions
1. Work requires working in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation or the like.
