The IT Project Analyst is a stepping stone to a full-fledged project manager position in the IT PMO. Under the direction of the Manager of Project Services, this role is responsible for gathering, collating and reporting on project metrics, including project budgets, actuals to date and estimates to complete projects. The IT Project Analyst reviews project attributes in IT PMO's project management tool and proactively reaches out to Project and Program Managers to ensure projects are healthy. This role analyzes resource allocation and utilization and generates reports on resource forecasts based on project roadmaps. This role manages the end-to-end execution of assigned projects from initiation through delivery and monitors action items, issues and risks through project closure of small to medium size projects. This includes prioritizing, scheduling and assigning tasks, facilitating project meetings, documenting and distributing meeting minutes, tracking project issues, risks and budgets, drafting and managing documentation, identifying resources, and communicating with IT departments and management.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Primary responsibilities are to gather, collate and report on project metrics and to generate resource forecast reports based on approved project roadmaps, report on project budgets, analyze resource allocation and utilization.

2. Provide project management for selected small and medium projects as assigned, and to execute project plans developed by Project Managers, develop, and document the project charter, create project funding authorization documents (Action Items), approve invoices for project spend.

3. Manage project budgets including providing actuals and estimates to complete on a periodic basis, develop reports in Project Portfolio Management tool, conduct phase gate reviews for large projects to ensure project continues to be aligned to original intent, enterprise strategic direction and PMO methodology.

4. Lead monthly Steering Committee meetings, develop, and maintain the project schedules, develop and maintain approved project plan, identify project stakeholders and organize the project team. Ensure consistent and effective communication among project stakeholders. Report progress and issues to management, stakeholders, and executive sponsors. Redirect the project, when necessary, as approved by the executive sponsor(s).

5. Coordinate and schedule the use of technical and business resources, assign tasks to staff allocated to the project, Monitor the work of the project resources, Facilitate the resolution of project issues and risks.

6. Maintain detailed project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

7. Conduct and document project reviews of completed projects.

8. Provide a team focus on customer satisfaction.

9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department


Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) required.
  • Minimum Five (5) years of relevant analytical or administrative experience required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
  • Experience or knowledge in most Microsoft productivity applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Visio, Project, Lync/Skype, SharePoint) or equivalent productivity suite.
  • Evidence of good written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience working with diverse work groups to accomplish goals.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or PMP certification or ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment is required.
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company's insurance carrier.
