The Department of Head and Neck Surgery within the Division of Surgery is actively recruiting an Assistant Professor, Term Tenure Track, faculty appointment for a clinical/research position appointed by the Chair of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, based on a national search, who will help lead the Department's clinical and scientific research mission and strategic initiatives in the field of head and neck endocrine surgery, animal model pre-clinical trials for novel therapeutics development, and maintain the highest levels of clinical work, research, quality, and value, while maximizing both intra- and extramural funding opportunities. The qualified candidate will have a clinical practice in head and neck surgical oncology and lead a translational research program with the primary objective to foster open communication and collaboration among the researchers and clinical faculty and administrative leadership across the Departments of Head and Neck Surgery, Investigational Cancer Therapeutics, Translational Molecular Pathology, Endocrine Neoplasia & Hormonal Disorders, and the phase-1 clinical trial program.
Qualified candidates will have an MD degree; will have completed an otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, oral maxillofacial surgery or general surgery residency and have completed advanced training in head and neck surgical oncology. They must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for licensure.
In addition, candidates must be PhD or MSc in the fields of Experimental Surgery, Surgical Innovation/Interventional Sciences, or similar field, with a track record of publications in the field of translational research and animal model development, pre-clinical trials, and advanced head and neck endocrine clinical research. Background in clinical trial development is desired. Research leadership, administrative experience, and independent funding is preferred. This position has a target base salary of $351,380 to $433,037 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
