Job Description

Summary of Position: This position manages the overall administrative operations of the doctor of psychology program. The program manager acts as the primary liaison for the program to both internal and external constituents, especially clinical practicum/training sites, and leads its major functions including, but not limited to, academic program management, financial and administrative leadership, and accreditation support. This position serves as a member of the program leadership team to ensure the efficient and effective management of the doctor of psychology program according to APA accreditation standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the overall administrative operations of the doctor of psychology program.
  • Communicates and coordinates with clinical practicum/training sites, and assists with practicum placement.
  • Tracks and manages ongoing compliance with APA accreditation standards.
  • Manages student placement policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Interprets and explains departmental policies, program responsibilities and procedures.
  • Directs students on how to complete required forms, documentation of achievement and milestones, etc.
  • Compiles and maintains data as required for enrollment, registration, withdrawals, and accreditation.
  • Ensures students compliance with program requirements and monitors student's progression to ensure continued progress towards completion of the degree requirements. Monitors GPAs, ensures submission of progress reports and reminds students of thesis proposal and candidacy deadlines.
  • Maintains student records in order to track academic progress and reviews and submits program required documents and graduation materials.
  • Produces, edits, updates, and posts marketing and department information online, various social media, and other venues.
  • Coordinates the promotions of programs to increase student and/or alumni participation. This may include implementing promotional plans, creating marketing materials and coordinating the production and distribution of materials.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a primary liaison to admissions.
  • Serve as liaison to campus faculty and staff.
  • Monitors and tracks program budget to ensure budget compliance.
  • All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience required.
  • Exceptional organizational, written and data management skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in higher education preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly, effectively, and positively.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to be attentive to details, be accurate, be precise.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment and also to work independently to produce quality outcomes.
  • Ability to reason/analyze; maintain confidentiality; and demonstrate patience, understanding.
  • Ability to show initiative; organize workflow; manage one or more projects; and handle frequent interruptions.

  • Typical work environment is an office.
