GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for general accounting support for Loram's corporate accounting functions and assigned business segments. Primary responsibilities include preparation and posting of journal entries; analysis of assigned general ledger account activity; assistance with the month-end and year-end financial closings; and supporting the internal and external audit functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Operational Excellence

  • Preparation and posting of journal entries
  • Preparation, analysis, and reporting of assigned general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assists with monthly and year-end closings including processing assigned accruals and analysis of assigned business segment results
  • Assists with capital expenditure administration process including fixed asset processing and reporting
  • Assists with processing and administration of treasury management, technician labor reporting, and intercompany and expense reporting transactions across assigned business segments
  • Assists with maintaining data integrity and code part hierarchy within the ERP system
  • Coordinates efforts with the broader accounting teams including finance, tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost, and payroll
  • Prepares and maintains work procedures for assigned tasks
  • Completes and assists with special projects and other duties as assigned

Compliance

  • Assists with interim and year-end external audits related to areas of responsibility

  • Assists with the accounting and financial review for assigned global entities
