Job Summary:
An X-ray Technician is a medical professional responsible for using imaging machines and tools to create a map of a patient's internal tissues and organ systems to assess their overall health. Their duties include explaining procedures to patients, calibrating imaging equipment and preparing results.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Follow instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patient's body needs imaging
* Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety
* Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position
* Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient
* Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding
* Keep good patient records
* Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders
* Perform Medical Assistant tasks as needed to help support clinic operations. This may include triaging patients, explaining treatment procedures to patients, administering medications, or similar tasks as directed by the provider.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment
* Additional responsibilities as assigned on a need basis

Education & Qualifications
* High School Diploma is required
* A minimum of one year experience as an X-Ray technician in a medical setting, preferably in a hospital, urgent care or diagnostics center
* 6 months previous NCT/LMRT experience or completion of an internal THR NCT training program in lieu of experience required
* Completion of approved NCT or LMRT training program is required
* Must have a current BLS for healthcare provider or CPR/AED certification
* BCLS (AHA) is required upon hire and must be maintained every 2 years
* NCT (Non-Certified Radiology Technician) or LMRT (Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist) registered by the Texas Medical Board upon hire is required
* Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or the successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or successful completion of a Vocational Nurse program is highly preferred
* Previous experience with electronic health record preferred
* Previous experience with straight-arm x-ray, venipuncture, or orthopedic experience with x-ray, casting, splinting, DME application, etc. is preferred
* Excellent customer service skills
* Fluency in English and Spanish
* Ability to communicate at all levels with patient population
* Organized and detailed oriented
* Knowledge of all regulations as it relates imaging terminology, safety and required guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of patient.
* Be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Team player able to collaborate with other team members including providers
