VETERANS AFFAIRS BOSTON HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) seeks an innovative leader to serve as Chief, General Internal Medicine Section. Candidates for this leadership position should have a strong record of academic achievement in research, clinical care, and mentorship. This full-time position, reporting directly to the Chief, Medical Service, has responsibilities for overseeing the Section's clinical programs, conducting investigator-initiated research, mentoring faculty and trainees, and participating in our teaching programs.

VABHS is a three-campus tertiary care medical center affiliated with Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) and provides a full range of patient-care services with nationally recognized education and research activities. VABHS features one of the largest research programs in VA, with major resources in epidemiology, clinical trials, and health services research. The Section of General Internal Medicine has a close relationship with the Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation Research, a VA Health Services Research & Development Center of Innovation. VABHS is also home to the Massachusetts Veterans Epidemiology Research and Information Center, a research center providing national leadership to the Million Veteran Program, VA's signature genomic medicine initiative.

The position requires US citizenship and an MD or DO, with licensure and board-certification in internal medicine.
