Incumbent is assigned to the Single Marine Program at the Enlisted Recreation Center (aka The Great Escape) to assist with the planning a comprehensive program of social, cultural, athletic, and recreational activities targeting Marines and Sailors ages 18 to 25 years.

The program addresses Quality of Life issues for single Marines aboard MCAS Miramar. Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity.

Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants.

Typical assignments may include establishing schedules of events, applying rules and regulations in supervising assigned participants in indoor and outdoor activities, setting up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, scheduling and conducting tours and field trips.

Incumbent will need to demonstrate activities and procedures common to the activities and instruct participants in the use of related equipment.

Will be responsible for conducting instructional classes, as well as assisting/helping plan and coordinate details of recreational activities. Responsible for maintaining supplies required for the program. Assists in planning, scheduling, and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants.
Responsible for driving participants to and from field trips on and off base. Incumbent must possess a valid CA driver¿s license, maintain a clear driving record, and meet all insurability requirements.

Drives one or more types of vehicles, such as sedans, vans, SUVs, and/or pickup trucks, on and off the installation.

Vehicles are driven on the basis of regular and specific trip assignments for transportation of personnel and participants in the program.

Driving conditions off the installation include driving in highly congested traffic locations and on high-speed highways/freeways. Ensures that passenger safety rules and regulations are followed. Ensures cargo is protected from weather and is properly distributed and secured to prevent damage or loss during transit.
May be responsible for operation of a cash register and selling retail items associated with activity. Responsible for the proper handling and safeguarding of funds. May perform light custodial and general housekeeping duties such as cleaning and dusting of the facility. Responsible for adherence to safety rules and regulations and established policies and procedures.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards.

Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
