Job Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Manager will develop, modify and implement CEMEX Standards & Best Practices for theMaintenance of all Commercial Fleet Equipment (Mobile Equipment). Will also manage, plan and coordinate thatall Transport fl eet vehicles are properly maintained to ensure legal and company compliance with regulatorystandards and CEMEX additional safety standards, inclusive of owner operators. Will also ensure Transport fl eetis maintained in optimum condition to meet daily availability. The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible formaintaining a safe, reliable, and cost-effi cient fl eet of vehicles to support the business. Must ensure proper useand care of physical assets, control costs, and manage external vendor relationships. Oversee maintenanceoperations team, work closely with shop supervisors and internal customers, and perform regular equipment andfacility audits.

Job Responsibilities
  • Continually focuses on optimizing maintenance practices and procedures to promote effective management of all fleet, including cost control, employee development and safety standards.
  • Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
  • Develops, modifies and implements CEMEX Standards & Best Practices for the operation and management of all Mobile Equipment, inclusive of owner operators across all operations.
  • Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic mechanic/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Lead and advance operational initiatives identified locally and nationally to bolster the company's engineering, fleet strategies and safety initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate new vehicle purchases in conjunction with procurement against agreed fleet specification from Logistics' Director and regional teams.
  • Ensures Maintenance shops are adequately staffed, and mechanics are properly trained.
  • Negotiate with Mobile Equipment Vendors on details for parts, service, secure rebates, credits, loaner equipment, to meet replacement criteria.
  • Management of fleet disposal in line with procurement processes achieving the best results for CX.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Review and evaluate new products and make recommendations for continuous improvements
  • Responsible for the prioritization and allocation of maintenance resources to achieve long term goals and respond to short term emergencies.
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, DOT, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 years experience performing varied responsibilities related to plant production and maintenance, equipment maintenance, detecting and resolving production problems, plant safety
  • 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Working knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations
  • 5 years of experience in Transport Operations and/or Transport Maintenance
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Familiar with industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Financial awareness ideally with experience of costing, reporting and analysis
  • Effective influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels, including senior managers and directors
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products, Work, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to all levels within the organization.
  • Able to analyze information and drive initiatives.
  • Ability to travel overnight, potentially 50% of time
  • Knowledge of Process Assessment and Development practices
  • Applies Legal, Regulatory, and Safety Knowledge
  • Systems Thinking and Analytical Thinking
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management Software(s) preferred
