Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DOD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Responsible for providing geologic and hydrogeologic expertise for support of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Superfund Program, Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP), and other Federal agency projects administered by the District.



Duties
  • Conducts, directs, and participates in preparation and reviews of hydrogeologic aspects of investigation plans and reports, feasibility studies, design reports, and plans and specifications for hazardous waste sites.
  • Determines the adequacy of previous investigations and recommends additional geologic investigations required to complete the design of hazardous waste site remedial work.
  • Conducts and directs hydrogeologic studies for the characterization of hazardous waste sites and other ground water related problems.
  • Meets with representatives of Architect-Engineer (A-E) firms, the Environmental Protection Agency, and other federal and state agencies to discuss review comments and hydrogeologic problems.
