WS Audiology externship program allows students to fulfill their 4th year externship requirement with a paid position. We are a growing company that provides the highest quality of hearing healthcare to our patients. Supervision by CCC-A Audiologist is guaranteed when required. All experiences are provided at a variety of clinic locations. While most clinical sites provide services for identifying and managing hearing impairment, some clinical sites provide more specialized services such as pediatric hearing loss testing and management, ABR, VNG, and vestibular rehabilitation. Hearing loss management procedures include TotalCare Program that provides the patient with an exceptional experience in hearing health and includes video-otoscopy, Quick SIN testing, hearing aid demonstrations, probe microphone measurements (REM), standardized protocols, aural rehabilitation sessions including use of LACE and ongoing clinical services.

WS Audiology externship positions require audiology students currently enrolled in an accredited audiology program seeking to fulfill their supervised Audiology Externship requirement prior to graduation. Student externs are guaranteed training/supervision by a CCC-A Audiologist when required in the areas of general clinical documentation, patient rapport establishment, history intake including hearing handicap survey, otoscopy, immittance (if applicable), video otoscope, hearing evaluation, hearing result interpretation, hearing aid demonstrations, hearing aid programming, aural rehabilitation counseling including option of LACE, hearing aid fitting practices including probe microphone, medical reporting, and general business practices such as invoicing, ordering, monitoring profit/loss reports, and participating in marketing endeavors.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: Skills required of a 4th Year Audiology Student include able to complete standard proceedures with adult population including: *history intake*otoscopy*hearing testing with masking*immittance testing*basic hearing aid management*basic hearing aid maintenance *general interactive communication skills Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: By the end of the externship, the student will improve his/her knowledge and skills that they held at the initial onset of externship while acquiring new skills in the areas of:*cerumen removal (if applicable)*administration of QuickSIN test*hearing aid selection*hearing aid programming*hearing aid fitting verification through probe microphone measurement*aural rehabilitation including LACE*general busines practices including invoicing, ordering, scheduling, report analysis, etc. Clinical opportunities that will be given to the extern:
