The Yard Lead will be responsible for the wash bay operations, maintaining a neat and orderly yard, and trailer pre-trips.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform driving duties and special assignments as directed by the Operations Supervisor or Manager
  • Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management
  • Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly yard oriented toward maximizing efficiency
  • Will be responsible for directing the yard spotters in the yard, managing the spotter schedules and filling in when necessary
  • Will be responsible to check all trailer temperatures and inspection of trailers prior to loading as needed by Operations Supervisor.
  • Responsible for managing trailer sweepers and wash bay staff to ensure trailers are clean for loading
  • Coordinate with shipping and receiving offices on trailer placements
  • Responsible for overseeing wash bay operations and adhere to the Trailer Washing, Sanitation, and Recordkeeping SOP put in place.
  • Will be responsible to conduct pre-trips on trailers according to the preflight checklist.

Requirements:

  • Must have the ability/willingness to learn equipment as well as have the ability to take direction, follow-up and be a team player.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to multi task, organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as effectively communicate with co-workers

Other:

  • Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 lbs. without restriction
  • Must be able to stand and walk for continuous periods of time
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holiday as needed
