Job Summary:
The Full-Stack Developer will be exceptionally well-versed in front-end and back-end technologies. Using a broad understanding of the technical fundamentals of the web, industry best practices, creativity, and collaboration, continually seeks to improve the Midwest Veterinary Supply website. This position will work closely with the E-Business Director, E-Commerce, IT, Marketing, and other Developers. Must have the ability to troubleshoot, organize, prioritize, and work exceptionally well with people.
Essential Job Functions:
- Design, develop, test, support, and maintain internal applications using Spring Boot, React, Node, and related technologies.
- Assist and collaborate with technical and business teams with documentation, technical design documentation, and integrating with 3rd party and backend software/systems.
- Implement robust and efficient web services solutions using REST and other related frameworks.
- Write code according to standards, with sufficient documentation and testable using JUNIT and other testing frameworks.
- Efficient with the use of code repositories such as GitHub, GitLab, or similar.
- Work with SQL and database technologies like IBM/DB2
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
- Assist with front-end development and optimization that meets the SLA for response time, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Monitor application performance using tools such as Dynatrace, Pingdom or other technologies.
- Provide support and assist technical and business teams to minimize threats to the website performance and uptime.
- Be able to read and understand application logs to isolate application performance, uptime, and failures.
- Provide training and assistance to customers and employees as needed.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
- Degree from a post-secondary education institution or work equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a professional web development work setting
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Strong web development, and maintenance experience
- CSS and HTML experience
- Strong experience with Java and related frameworks including Spring Boot
- Experience designing and implementing web services using REST or similar technologies.
- Expertise in Test Driven Development (TDD) using JUnit or similar testing frameworks.
- Experience using Swagger for API documentation.
- Knowledge of JSON/XML.
- Integration with legacy systems
- Experience with Git including creating, and managing repositories, branching, code merge, and peer code reviews using Git pull requests.
- Experience working with SQL including inline, stored procedure, and functions using DB2 database.
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Experience with REACT to create and modify existing UI components that meet or exceed SLA.
