The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Physician (Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Service Chief). The Physician (Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Service Chief) will function in Radiology Service.


The Chief of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine is responsible for providing leadership in Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, oversight in all diagnostic imaging functions within the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, and ensuring quality and cost-effective care.

In this role, the incumbent is accountable for managing all Imaging programs and services performed within the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, both inhouse and through community partners.

The Chief of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine ensures the timely delivery of quality assessment, diagnosis, and management of inpatient, residential, and outpatient care in accordance with VHA and Health Care System standards.

Approximately 40% of the incumbent's duties are administrative, while 60% are clinical.

The Radiology and Nuclear Medicine consists of approximately 164 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) staff, including Physicians, Nurse Practitioner, Technologists, and Administrative Support staff.

Programs under the direct authority of the Service Chief include Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology, and Diagnostic Imaging.

A summary of the duties is mentioned below but not limited to:

Supervision of a variety of radiology health care professionals and allied staff including but not limited to; physicians, technologists, nurses, and administrative staff.

Serving as one of the principle clinical advisors to the Chief of Staff for the overall scope of radiology and nuclear medicine care provided.

Planning, developing, and directing the general radiology, CT scan, Ultrasound, MRI, Interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine operations of the Service.

Providing radiological studies in the inpatient and outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and ICU areas throughout the medical center.

Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Licensure:
1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Work Schedule:
