Job Description

Danfoss in Searcy, AR is seeking a Maintenance Buyer/Planner. This position will be responsible for accurately and effectively, supporting the plant maintenance team by overseeing, improving, and upgrading the preventative and predictive maintenance program. This position will schedule and coordinate timely deliveries of purchased components. Provide support to the maintenance team by creating, scheduling and managing orders.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for manpower management; day to day support, in-house repair work, vacation, OT weekend work scheduling.

Plan and schedule maintenance work orders daily in order of highest priority, prioritizing any safety work order that proposes an immediate safety hazard.

Maintains spare parts inventory; Identifies and orders needed parts, maintaining tracking system.

Assists with training and administration of training of maintenance associates to support production requirements.

Conducts inspections regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.

Utilizes established tracking system and repair policies/procedures to return equipment to fully operational status.

Execute and improve planning methodology for preventative maintenance program.

Identify equipment failure trends and report them to the site manager for root cause analysis.

Runs and reviews maintenance reports using various automated systems; creates and distributes scheduled maintenance work orders.

Ensures all mandated maintenance compliances are achieved within time constraints.

Review master maintenance schedule and work orders, establish priorities and availability or capability of parts, materials, machines and equipment.

Plan and allocate materials based on prescribed methodology to reduce machine downtime.

Ensure that materials, supplies and services are provided by supplier in support of internal and external customer requirements.

Manage and develop suppliers to ensure optimal quality and delivery, while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Execute daily/weekly cycle of release, expedite, and review of maintenance requirements to support manufacturing requirements.

Drive part deliveries to minimize part shortages.

Provide supplier forecasting information from forecast/schedules where required.

Analyze inventory levels and meet DOH objectives.

Actively support timely disposition of deviated materials and return-to-vendor of defective parts.

Manage all issues with supplier invoicing to insure timely payment to suppliers.

Manage supplier performance improvement objectives

Background & Skills
  • High school diploma / GED
  • Minimum 1 year buying, planning experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred
  • Planning & scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • MRP systems knowledge (SAP and Mfg/Pro preferred)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials planning and inventory control processes
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Teamwork and excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
