Tactical Officer (TAC Officer)

Job Summary:
The Tactical Officer (TAC Officer) plays a pivotal role in managing the residential
aspects of cadet life at New York Military Academy, serving grades 7 through 12.
This position is responsible for maintaining discipline, structure, and oversight
within the dormitory settings, ensuring cadets uphold the academy's standards
and develop leadership qualities in a safe and structured environment.

Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor cadets within the dormitory setting, providing guidance
and support in their personal and residential responsibilities.
Enforce discipline and maintain order in the dormitories, ensuring cadets adhere
to the academy's code of conduct and behavioral standards.
Conduct regular inspections of cadets' living quarters to ensure cleanliness,
orderliness, and compliance with academy standards.
Serve as a primary point of contact for cadets during evenings and weekends,
addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring a safe and conducive
living environment.
Teach and reinforce leadership skills, military customs, and courtesies within the
residential setting.
Facilitate and supervise evening and weekend activities and study periods,
ensuring productive and structured use of time.
Act as a liaison between cadets and the administration, advocating for cadet
needs and coordinating with other staff to support cadet development.

Qualifications:
Prior military background strongly preferred, ideally a retired military officer or an
individual with significant experience in military training environments.
Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, leadership, or a related field.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively mentor and
influence young people.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to the values and mission of the military academy.
First aid and CPR certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to participate in rigorous physical activity including marches, drills,
and potential field exercises.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
