Duties
  • Duties are listed at full performance level, GS 12.
  • Review silvicultural prescriptions to ensure compatibility with long-range timber management plans for a natural resource organization.
  • Design and administer quality control processes for consistency with timber sale administration policies and standards.
  • Inspect logging operations to ensure watershed, recreation, and wildlife values are protected.
  • Adjust timber cutting plans to prevent disease and to salvage timber for a timber sale program.
  • Prepare environmental impact statements or environmental analysis reports for a timber sale program.
  • Design or modify timber sale or land stewardship contracts.
  • Document work progress and accountability of the timber resource program activity.
  • Determine budget requirements for a timber program.
  • Participate with leadership to set goals, objectives, and targets for current and out-year timber sales.
  • Execute timber and stewardship contracts and adjust or modify contract terms for a timber sale program.
