Pine Point School is seeking a full-time dance teacher who is passionate about dance and creative movement and understands the developmental needs of learners of all ages. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with faculty in a progressive learning environment and be dedicated to the Pine Point School mission of helping students develop a strong academic and ethical core, a lifelong curiosity about their world, and a commitment to reaching solutions creatively, collaboratively, and compassionately.

Instruction is provided through a collaborative, active, and engaging program focused on creative movement and problem-solving through collaboration. The candidate must be committed to integrating dance with the curriculum from Pre-K - 9th grade and be willing to work with a dynamic and creative team. This position includes instruction in our summer Evergreen program, writing report cards/comments, conferencing with parents, and maintaining consistent communication with colleagues and parents. Advising, coaching, or leading co-curricular and extracurricular programs, various duties, and field trips are expected.

Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience and comfort with a hands-on, inquiry-based style of teaching and managing collaborative learning groups
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Evidence of the ability to engage, motivate, assess, and develop student learning
  • Experience teaching dance and creative movement, choreography/composition, and performance
  • Experience with diverse dance styles and genres and the ability to facilitate an inclusive dance experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of dance history (Prehistory, Egyptian, Greek/Roman, Dark/Middle Ages, Renaissance, Romantic, etc.)
  • Experience with choreography for plays and musical theater
  • Experience and comfort with technology
