Duties

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

The Nebraska-Western Iowa VA Health Care seeks a Hematology/Oncology physician.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide direct comprehensive patient care to adults with acute and chronic diseases characterized by various blood disorders. The ideal physician will provide care to patients in inpatient and outpatient primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings.
- Expert with history taking, physical examination, test interpretation, selected diagnostic procedures, patient counseling, differential diagnosis and medical therapeutics in the broad range of blood disorders and cancer.
- In addition to performing clinical duties, the Hematology Oncology Section is affiliated with the Division of Hematology Oncology at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
- Supervise medical residents and fellows in clinical settings. Teaching is an integral component to the Omaha VA Medical Center. Teaching will be conducted at the bedside and in clinics, as well as in didactic sessions with learners at all levels.
- Candidates must be Board Certified/Eligible Internal Medicine and Hematology and/or Oncology. Additional experience/training in Clinical Research as well as experience/training in conducting clinical trials is strongly preferred.
