Sustainability Advisor

We have an opportunity on our US based Sustainability team to support North American Market. You will be a member of Cognizant's rapidly growing Sustainability Practice, identifying sustainability opportunities at Fortune 500 companies and participating in impactful projects.

We are looking for an energetic individual with a focus on quality, detail and delivering value to our clients.

• Lead client facing conversations related to topics such as: emission management strategy, circular economy and decarbonization (organizational or value chain) in a variety of industries (e.g. Retail, CPG etc.)
• Demonstrate strong transformation execution skills to govern ESG program or manage change with influence
• Strong program management expertise to charter, organize, govern and deliver large programs managing client contracts, resources, budget, scope, risks and schedule.
• Partake in business and data strategy projects as the sustainability expert, examining key potential sustainability strategies and opportunities across an array of client sustainability program maturity levels. This will require adaptability and an ability to identify with the client where they stand to set an attainable sustainability roadmap
• Encourage forward thinking solutions and a collaborative communication environment to achieve business buy in
• Support internal business development and sales teams in formulating the value propositions around carbon emissions reduction and in lead generation.
• Partner with sustainability team to create accelerators and high value reusable assets (e.g. content, thought leadership) that Cognizant can bring to client engagement, such as comprehensive GHG emissions models, ESG transformation framework etc.

Qualifications

· 7+ years of professional experience working in the sustainability space with large corporations

· BS or MS in a scientific, mathematical or engineering subject with focus on sustainability

· Experience in carbon emissions accounting (GHG protocol) for large corporations and translating them to reports and emissions reduction strategies

· Previous experience in a consulting or advisory role is preferred

· Familiarity with CSO sustainability reporting frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, etc.)

· Client focused, detail-oriented, organized and independent thinker that follows trends in sustainability legislation, industry and innovation

· Strong business development skills

· Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels
