Electrical Engineer I
The design and management of cabling in our systems tends to be overlooked and neglected until late in an NPI project, which is typically too late and causes delays and reworks/redesigns. Resources are currently assigned to these tasks in an ad hoc manner.
This additional resource would drive consistency and excellence in the design of all cabling solutions and manage these designs right into production. This resource would also ensure proper transfer of all cabling documentation to our manufacturing partners and CMs.
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced person to lead the design and management of all cabling solutions for our development projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about this discipline, understands the electronics design development process in general, can work with our internal teams of EEs, and has good written and verbal communications skills in order to interface with manufacturing partners and external vendors.
How You'll Make An Impact:
- Work with the EE team assigned to NPI programs to realize cabling designs that meet all requirements for performance and cost.
- Work with the assigned manufacturing partner (internal or external) to ensure all requirements are met and documented.
- Perform DfX reviews on all cables, as well as participate in all electrical/electronic design reviews to ensure the realization of cabling that meets the product requirements.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 1+ years of experience working in an electrical design environment that included cabling and harnesses.
- System level integration and troubleshooting experience.
- Familiarity with analog and digital electronics and design practices.
- Ability to understand, debug and work with Schematics. Altium and Solidworks experience a plus.
- Ability to build small quantity prototype cabling solutions to support the project team as needed.
