Controller

Vaco is partnering with a leading manufacturing company to hire a Controller for their Chesapeake, VA site.As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations. This includes developing and optimizing accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and maintaining internal controls. You will be instrumental in developing and monitoring cash flow forecasts, overseeing payroll, managing budgets, and acting as the point of contact for external audits.

Responsibilities:
  • Continually update and optimize accounting policies and procedures
  • Institute and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations and policies.
  • Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts, providing regular updates to senior leaders
  • Develop and manage operating budgets
  • Oversee month-end close and issuance of financial reports
  • Oversee payroll and ensure that all employees are compensated accurately and on time
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA highly preferred
  • At least 7 years of experience in accounting, with 3+ years in leadership
  • Previous experience in manufacturing industry highly preferred
