Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job:

  • Provides high-quality, evidence-based primary medical care to SEARHC patients, including obstetrics and pediatric services.
  • Offers guidance, consultation, and advice to SEARHC Advanced Practice Clinicians, overseeing their practice when needed.
  • Manages a full panel of patients in collaboration with the integrated care team.
  • Document all patient services accurately in the medical record following guidelines.
  • Participates in shared Obstetrics and Pediatric call rotation.
  • Engages in quality and performance improvement programs at SEARHC and BRH.
  • Delivers medical education to medical students and resident physicians.
  • Takes part in medical education to stay licensed and certified.
  • Provides consultative services to rural healthcare providers when necessary.
  • May assist with hospitalist duties if required.

Education/Experience:

  • Completion of Medical School and a three-year family practice residency.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine.

License/Certification:

  • Active, unrestricted Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) license.
  • Necessary certifications within 18 months of starting the position.
  • BLS, NRP, ALSO, ACLS certifications required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in primary care principles and practices.
  • Demonstrates respectful behavior towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Supports healthcare standards and ethical practices.
  • Possesses strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to utilize medical records and clinical technology efficiently.
  • Shows sensitivity and responsiveness to diverse patient backgrounds and needs.
  • Possesses surgical skills and training as required.

Required Certifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) - American Academy of Family Physicians, Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association, Neonatal Resuscitation Program Cert - American Heart Association
