Temecula is a city in southwestern Riverside County, California, United States. The city had a population of 110,003 as of the 2020 census and was incorporated on December 1, 1989.
The city is a tourist and resort destination, with the Temecula Valley Wine Country, Old Town Temecula, the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wind Festival, the Temecula Valley International Film Festival, championship golf courses, and resort accommodations contributing to the city's economic profile.
The city of Temecula, forming the southwestern anchor of the Inland Empire region, is approximately 58 miles (93 km) north of downtown San Diego and 85 miles (137 km) southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Although Temecula is geographically closer to downtown San Diego than downtown Los Angeles, it is considered part of the Greater Los Angeles area.
Temecula is bordered by the city of Murrieta to the north and the Pechanga Indian Reservation and San Diego County to the south.
Temecula is also the principal city of the Temecula-Murrieta-Menifee, CA urban area, which had a population of 528,991 as of the 2020 census.

Responsibilities
- Serves as a recognized board-certified expert in the delivery of Family Medicine medical care to all ages of active duty personnel, their dependents, eligible Navy Civilian employees and other eligible beneficiaries.
Independently formulates full treatment plans based on sound evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current and/ or evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
Coordinates with facility and community resources to provide multi- disciplinary comprehensive care to all patients, taking into account factors such as new and/or emerging procedures and techniques and the patient's personal history, as well as information gained through diagnostic tests.
Due to the possible lack of consistent medical specialty support, may be required to provide some sub-specialty services within current granted privileges to patients encountered.
Applies new procedures in the evaluation and treatment of complex patient cases and conducts research for the advancement of the Family Medicine program and for quality improvement to other providers and patients.
Performs emergency services or crisis intervention, including life-saving emergency procedures when necessary. Promotes preventative and health maintenance care, stresses positive health behaviors and self-care through education and counseling.Encourages patients to make difficult life style changes to improve their heath and provides follow-up treatment and care to patients to ascertain compliance with therapy and response to treatment.
Determines and provides assessments of fitness and suitability for duty and deployments of service members.Provides advice by telephone and/ or in person to other physicians, non-physician providers, and other professional medical staff on the care of patients with urgent, emergent, and non-urgent medical problems.
- Serves as member of the professional medical staff and/ or faculty to provide advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and/ or boards.
As a board certified expert, evaluates the care provided to patients at MTF, identifies opportunities to change the care delivered, advices on difficult or complex cases, and recommends corrective action when problems exist.
Involved in a wide array of teaching activities, including, but not limited to:
training, mentoring, and supervising residency students, weekly global supervision to a resident, teaching didactics, attending Graduate Medical Education (GME) meetings to plan and evaluate residency education and residents, and participates in teaching conferences and case discussions.
Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
US Citizenship required
Degree:
Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must have provided education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States.
Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S.
Medical Licensing Examination.Board Certification:
Must possess and maintain board certification in Family Medicine by a nationally recognized board.
Licensure:
Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Graduate Training:
Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Residency Training for GP-15 Position: Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Family Medicine) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 5 years.
