Under the direction of the IT Director, the employee works independently in the design, development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and promotion of the geographic information systems (GIS) and related databases.

Responsible for development and implementation of GIS software updates.

Identifies and documents all related industry standards and makes recommendations on guidelines related to GIS projects; interprets and administers adopted guidelines and amends as needed.

Provides systems training and troubleshooting.
