Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: Tympanometry, basic conventional audiometry and sufficient knowledge about child development. Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: Pediatric diagnostics, APD testing, HA fittings, CI evaluations and fittings, BAHA fittings, working with an interdisciplinary team, Newborn hearing screenings, documentation, working with patients and families from diverse backgrounds, and counseling skills.
