Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a SEIT Lead to serve as Weapon Development SEIT Lead on our team in Saint Charles, Missouri to coordinate the efforts of Systems Engineering, CM/DM, RAM, Safety, E3, Logistics, HFE, and other disciplines and handle EVM, schedule, action items, documentation, and performance of the extended SEIT team.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop, and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Lead others in evaluating customer and operational needs and define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
  • Lead analyses that optimize total system of systems or system architecture.
  • Lead analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Lead, develop, maintain, and identify improvements for the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.
To meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite in Saint Charles, MO.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 10+ years working in an engineering field.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Ability to oversee a team with a diverse skill set.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of Engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to remain on task and meet goals in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to adapt to the Systems Engineering tool set.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Lead Experience.
Typical Education & Experience:

Lead (level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Principal (level 6): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
