Our location in Columbus, OH (High Rise Warehouse) currently has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician II (Multi-Craft Technician II) Overnight Shift. With state-of-the-art equipment and advanced automation, you will work with a team that's dedicated to nourishing the world.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Maintenance Technician II supports the installation, ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of all distribution center equipment, systems and other fixed assets to a high standard of safety, quality and productivity at the lowest possible cost while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Function as the subject matter expert for technical repair and maintenance
  • Provide outstanding customer service to the manufacturing, distribution, and support groups through a robust predictive, preventative, and autonomous maintenance program, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading of distribution center (DC) equipment
  • Serve as a technical resource to the DC and divisional manufacturing and engineering groups
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM), supporting distribution center productivity, scheduling shutdown repairs and major maintenance tasks to meet the site milestones
  • Maintain all facility areas in an acceptable state of functionality and appearance. Maintenance functions include but are not limited to; training and coaching peers on mechanical aptitude improvements, welding, fabrication, failure analysis, and equipment rebuilds with emphasis on conveyor systems, stackers, AGVs, and motor control systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems problems for manufacturing and facility equipment, both routine and complex, using a defined method of troubleshooting to get to root cause, reading of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams both routine and complex as required
  • Machining of parts on a lathe or mill for replacement of repair or worn parts, wire and repair electric motors, repair basic wiring and replace lighting fixtures and lamps, correct size fusing, motor overload protection and wire size per National Electric Code (NEC), read electrical schematics and wire directly from wiring diagrams, use of electrical and precision tools to complete assigned work
  • Weld stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum, fabricating guards, etc. as required
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to support, coordinate and implement design changes to equipment and controls
  • Record and communicate shift activity in an organized manner
  • Properly use the CMMS (Maximo) and follow all stockroom procedures

Follow all plant and department procedures, GMP's and DC safety rules. Keep all work areas clean by following 5S protocol.

Follow all maintenance safety procedures; LOTO, know how to recognize an unsafe situation and evaluate the situation to keep yourself and others safe while performing the needed repair.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two-year mechanical / electrical technical degree OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to work weekends and/or overtime as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals
  • Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance skills and techniques including vibration analysis, laser alignment, and oil sampling.
  • Experience with cycle-based PM systems and problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys, , Analytical Troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis.

The base pay for this position is $ $41.20 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
