Summary

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center, Civil Engineering Unit Miami (CEU MIAMI), Regional Execution Branch, in Miami, FL.



Duties

As an Architect and leader of multidisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for the design and construction of new and/or extension, conversion, modernization, maintenance and repair of existing CG modern or historical shore facilities and marine site structures. The position will provide technical architectural support for assigned geographical areas.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignment includes:

  • Analyzing designs, planning, and executing large and/or complex designs for diverse range of engineering projects.
  • Evaluating design objectives, performing complex technical calculations, and identifying the most economical and efficient procedures for project design and performance considering all influences.
  • Working complexities require adaptation and modification of precedents and a versatile and creative approach to solve problems where serious conflicts exist between management requirements and engineering principles.
  • Performing field investigations to evaluate architectural issues and concerns with existing facilities to develop recommendations.
  • Serving as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for assigned projects
