This position is located in the Wyoming Army National Guard's Information Management directorate.

The purpose of this position is to function as a technical specialist on issues relating to the wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) systems and their integration in the network.

The work involves network administration, optimization and performance in support of the supports the state's wide area command and control integrated network.

Coordinates installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning of the networks including all hardware, software, telecommunications, and networking components. Ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data accessible on the networks. Reviews proposed applications for compatibility and interoperability. Analyzes network utilization statistics, performance measures, and system profiles to ensure network robustness.

Identifies potential performance or capacity problems and plans for changes to avert problems; and analyzes systems malfunctions and implements necessary corrective actions.

Administers customer accounts, diagnoses and resolves operating problems, maintains documentation of networks configuration including schematic diagram with layout and location of all components, executes systems backups, and ensures that proposed software applications will function in the current network environment.
